“Beauty has always played a huge role in what we do on the runway and MAC has been one of our biggest supporters. We wanted to create something that the Proenza Schouler woman could relate to off the runway, and the MAC brand is so deeply rooted in fashion that we knew they would understand our vision.” “We love color, it’s a huge part of what we do, but because we go so heavy on it with the clothes, we’ve tried to keep the makeup fresh, to give it a nonchalance. It’s a bit of a balancing act.” — Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler.
A Proenza girl would never pile on the makeup to compliment her striated-wood platform heels or shag coat. She’d simply dab balm on her eyes and lips, or add a hint of blush to her cheeks if she felt the occasion warranted something slightly more “done,” and hit the downtown circuit looking cooler than ever.
I expected a lot of natural shades, but the colors are quite vibrant. So amazing!! If you are a Proenza fan an beauty lover you were probably too excited to sleep. The exclusive collection is available online from today! And available in the MAC Pro Store from Saturday. So far, I have only tried out the lipstick (Mangrove). The collection consists of 4 lipsticks: Woodrose and Primrose (lustre finish), Pinkfringe (satin finish) and Mangrove (matte finish). I’m afraid this is another must-have! The color is vibrant, the lipstick is highly pigmented, long lasting and the feeling is silky soft.
The collection features a 15 piece sunset-effect palette, metallic eye shadows, eyeliners and urban color varnishes, all in multicolor mirror-effect packaging, inspired by a previous Proenza Schouler collection. I will try the other products in these days and will come back to you before Saturday, so you know how to spend your money. For now, make sure to get your hands on this lipstick.
