Attending a fashion show is always an experience. I’m always excited, next to the fact I get inspired it gives me a lot of energy. You can imagine how much energy it gives to bring a visit backstage. I got the opportunity to interview Tom Pecheux, Estée Lauder Creative Makeup Director before the Derek Lam show in NY. Estée Lauder created the beauty looks for Derek Lam and Opening Ceremony this season. I was super excited, since I am a big fan of Derek Lam. Tom and Derek didn’t didn’t disappoint me. Both, makeup and collection were gorgeous.
The makeup looks were build throughout the show. The show opened with a minimal and natural look. A creamy natural base skin, a golden eyeshadow and a satin gold lip. For the second look, Tom transformed the eyes with the addition of a navy cube liner to the corners, to create a unique and edgy touch. The show ended with intense eyes, a sexy summer look. The black liner added under the eye and mascara on the upper lashes. The makeup was like the collection playfull, sexy, sporty, feminine and chic with a twist.
